How did Geeta Die, who was kept under the protection of Sosek ?

A young woman has died in Kalikot. The body of 25-year-old Geeta Kumari Jaisi Shahi of Lusa Maiti of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-1 was found hanging, said Arjun KC, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Kalikot.

She died on Sunday morning while hanging from the door of the toilet while he was kept in a shelter run by an NGO run by SOSEC Nepal for protection and psychosocial counseling after his family refused to accept him due to security reasons. 

Although SOSEC has been working for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of vulnerable women and children, the incident is considered suspicious after her death within a few days of being kept.

"The relatives were agitated that he had gone missing on September 29, but after coming in contact with him, we kept him in an institution named SOSEC for protection and psychological counselling after his relatives refused to take him due to security reasons," dsp KC said. ’

Dsp KC said that the process for the post-mortem would be forwarded after the arrival of the relatives and the matter of murder or suicide would be known only after investigation. On the other hand, relatives have claimed that they committed suicide as they could not bear the long-standing mental and physical torture of the husband.

Geeta's relatives have been claiming that geeta's mysterious death was not a suicide but a murder. 

Geeta has been in family trouble for a long time

Dhaniram Jaisi, 55, of Lusa of SanniTriveni rural municipality-1 in Kalikot died three years ago on September 28, 2077. He was on his way to jite bazaar from his home when he fell from a cliff. Relatives and police took the incident as an accident.

However, on September 9, 2080, it was revealed that the cause of Jaisi's death was not an accident, but he was pushed from the cliff. Dan Bahadur Shahi, a resident of Katti of Bhagawatimai rural municipality-5 in Dailekh district, had given birth to a son by having an illicit relationship with Geeta Jaisi. He was living in Manam, the district headquarters of Kalikot.

The mother's side had pressured her to take charge of her daughter. Shahi had also accepted her as the youngest wife as she was pregnant. After the birth of his son, Shahi started giving physical and mental violence to his younger wife. The mother's side did not like the violence against the daughter. Geeta's maternal side had warned against violence and would approach the legal body if she overdoes.

As the violence escalated, Geeta's maternal side forced Geeta to file a police complaint against Dan Bahadur Shahi (Geeta's husband). The cause of her father's death came to light after Geeta filed a case with the court.

Shahi, who is also uml's Kalikot party office secretary, had threatened to kill his mother and son using boys like his father-in-law if the case was not withdrawn through the passenger. In the messenger, it has been written that the lawyer and the judge will be bought by them, if they have money, everything will be done and Geeta and son will also be made there.

"I will kill you and your son too, i am thakuri's son and i will not back down," he said in a message sent to Geeta. Geeta reached the District Police Office, Kalikot with a complaint with her husband's repeated threats through messenger.

The police refused to register a complaint against him. Geeta's elder brother Gauri Jaisi filed a murder case with the police on August 12 after she told him that she had killed her in-laws through messenger. The police arrested him on May 10.

Dan Bahadur's younger wife Geeta and son had gone missing from the room on September 20. They were found in Nepalgunj three days after they went missing. At that time, Geeta's relatives had accused Dan Bahadur of 'disappearing' the mother and son.

After Geeta's disappearance, the relatives had staged a sit-in at the District Police Office, Kalikot, on September 12, alleging that Dan Bahadur had made his wife and son disappear. Geeta's divorce and divorce case is going on at the District Court, Kalikot.
